Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Chair and Stool (1929), originally created for his German Pavilion at the International Exhibition in Barcelona. Mies van der Rohe designed the chair for the king and queen of Spain, while the stool was to accommodate their attendants.

This Barcelona is of quality fit for royalty. The cushions – welting and buttons included are supported by cowhide belting straps, dyed to match the color of the chair. The panels of leather are totally hand cut, hand welted and hand tufted.

The Barcelona Chair is part of the Permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York
