Der Sessel F978, ein Entwurf von Geoffrey Harcourt aus 1968, wird von Artifort mit leichter Veränderung am Untergestell wieder produziert.

Das Trägerschale des Polsters besteht aus hartem Polyurethan, wahlweise in schwarz oder weiß.
Die Basis der Polsterschale bildet der Super Bultex Schaum und Dacron. Die Polsterschale ist fest mit der Trägerschale verbunden und wird auf dem polierten Tellerfuß auf Aluminium montiert.

Geoffrey Harcourt RDI (1935, London) absolvierte im nationalen Möbelzentrum High Wycombe und studierte am Royal College of Art in London. In 1962 kam er zu der Artifort Design Gruppe. Harcourt konzentrierte sich auf die Projekteinrichtung, ein Markt, in dem Artifort Anfang der 60’er Jahre noch nicht aktiv war. Er hat eine Vielzahl schöner Sitzmöbel entworfen, wie zum Beispiel die ersten Traversen. Herrliche Entwürfe der 70er Jahren haben eine Kollektion an Sitzmöbel entstehen lassen, die für allgemeine Räume, Warteräume, Flughäfen usw. wie geschaffen sind. In den 80’er Jahren hat er besonders Büro - und Konferenzstühle entworfen. Für seine Arbeiten erhielt er in 1978 den Titel "Royal Designer for Industry".

Artifort's roots lie in the small upholstery shop set up by Jules Wagemans in Maastricht in 1890. Within a generation the store had became a successful furniture factory and by the 1920s it had expanded into a internationally renowned brand. The 1920s and 1930s represented a turning point for the family business as global economic instability forced Wagermans and his partner Van Tuinen to re-think their business strategy and image. That is how Artifort was established in 1928. In the 1930s the company gained exclusivity to the Epeda interior springing technique. This established Artifort as a leading proponent of new technologies in interior design. de The arrival of designer Kho Liang Ie was instrumental to establishing Artifort's growing influence in the 1950s and 60s. Kho Liang Le not only brought a more modern sensibility to the company and its image, but pushed for the recruitment of new young designers such as Pierre Paulin. This proved to be a crucial move, as young Paulin was to become one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. Thus, French designer Pierre Paulin became a star at Artifort, even as the latter became a leading brand in the world of contemporary furniture design. Paulin's style remains iconic and revolutionary to this day. His use of colors and materials is unique and defined Artifort's collection for decades. Another designer whose work defined Artifort in the 1960s and 70s was Geoffrey Harcourt. While Artifort has remained a leading brand in the world of furniture, since the early 2000s its has re-established itself as a innovating force in the world of design. Projects such as the Apollo chair, designed by Patrick Norguet, are exemplary of Artifort's style, light and modern.

Our WHITE GLOVE Delivery Service includes:

Delivery to: Inside your residence to room of your choosing.
Assembly Service: The delivery team will unpack the product and provide up to 45 minutes of light setup that can require basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other).
Packaging: The shipper will remove and dispose of all packaging.

Please note that setup services DO NOT include any electrical, plumbing or component hookups. Please contact us if you feel you need these services.

Delivery Instructions

Your order will be delivered by a white glove freight carrier to ensure the safest and most convenient delivery.
The following should be noted:

A white glove delivery team consists of at least two people who will be in charge of carrying your order to your home from the back of the truck. This way you don't have to worry about transporting any heavy loads yourself.
Once your order arrives in your area, a representative from the white glove carrier will call you to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. Please note that failure to receive the order at the time previously agreed on can result in a higher fee.
You must inspect your order at the time of delivery. If there is any sign of damage on the item or if you are concerned there may be damage, please make sure you write "Product Damaged" on the sheet you are asked to sign. This ensures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to resolve the problem.
